Privacy Statement

InSight has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for InSight.

Information Collected

InSight gathers three types of information about users:

  • Data that users provide through site registration and participation in optional surveys.
  • Aggregated tracking data provided by server logs. IP addresses are used to gather broad demographic information and to help diagnose problems with the server and to administer the web site. Server logs may also collect information about the URLs, as well as which pages receive the most traffic. This information helps to offer personalized information to users and better tailor our future content to users’ needs.
  • The site uses forms so that customers can register for InSight events and apply for membership. Visitors’ personal contact information (like name and address) and financial information (like credit card number) is collected. Contact information is used for administrative purposes. Users who register for an InSight event may receive notification of other upcoming events or promotions that may be of interest. Payment information may only be collected for online conference registration and online membership renewal and is protected by VeriSign SSL certificate to protect the confidentiality of users’ credit card and other personal information. Financial information collected is used only to bill the user for products and services ordered.

Information Provided to Third Parties

It is the policy of InSight that conference and membership databases will not be made available on electronic media to organizations outside the McKesson or InSight organizations.  InSight may provide aggregated demographic and site usage information to third parties such as site sponsors.  InSight provides limited information from registration forms to InSight vendor members at the conclusion of each InSight event as follows: Registrant name, company, city and state/province and country only.

InSight members, through the InSight web site’s password-protected, online Membership Directory, may obtain information about fellow InSight members, including only a member's name, title, organization, address, e-mail, fax number, telephone number and SIG preferences.

Retention of Personal Information

InSight may retain personal information regarding InSight members indefinitely.

Opting Out

Insight members may opt-out of having their contact information disseminated to particular third parties or from receiving regular broadcast e-mails sent from InSight to members. To opt-out of some or all of these components, members can e-mail info@insight-net.org

Public Forums

InSight makes discussion forums available to its users. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information. Participation in the discussion forums is contingent upon your agreement to the RULES OF CONDUCT for those areas.

General Use Statement

InSight will post and maintain a general use policy statement on the web site summarizing how information is collected, what information is shared, how long information is retained, how an individual can opt-out, and guidelines regarding participation in discussion forums.
