The InSight Physician Track is designed to provide physicians current information on clinical adoption of IT. Using real examples, Physician Track sessions will address physician questions about clinical adoption of computerized physician order entry (CPOE) and achieving meaningful use.

This panel session will focus on successful big bang deployment of CPOE/Horizon Expert Orders at both community and academic organizations. Panelists will discuss lessons learned and best practices associated with a big bang deployment approach including governance, resources, executive involvement, training approaches, physician adoption strategies, marketing campaigns, content approach and more.

In this session, you will learn from the HAC 10.3.1 beta testers on what to expect from this upgrade.  Speakers will share lessons learned, tips and tricks to making the upgrade successful.

1604: HAC Preparation for ICD-10

In this session, McKesson will team up with an HAC customer to discuss the changes coming in HAC to prepare for ICD-10.  The HAC customer share experiences learned at their organization by working towards the ICD-10 deadline.  Audience will be educated on the future changes and ideas to bring back to their organization.

1606: RelayHealth Integration with HAC

In this session, attendees will learn how sites have been successful at utilizing RelayHealth in their organization.  Speakers will share experiences with sending Radiology and Lab results directly to patient's PHR.  Speaker will also share ideas used to promote RelayHealth with their practices.

1607: Meaningful Use:  HAC Status Update

In this session we will have several HAC users present their process in the preparation for Stage 1 and how sites are preparing for Stage 2. We will discuss challenges and how HAC helps in defining each objective.  Team will share information on how they motivated office staff and providers to work towards consistent documentation needed to achieve meaningful use. Attendees should come prepared to share ideas on how they plan to achieve meaningful use.

In this session, the audience will learn how electronic health record visit notes documentation happens today in many practices. Dr. Nessim will discuss future visit note documentation in an interactive discussion with the attendees. He will discuss options for tools and methods used today and what may be used in future.

The transition to ICD-10 code sets for diagnoses and procedures will affect healthcare organizations in virtually all aspects of their business. While much of the focus to date has been on the impact of ICD-10 to billing and reimbursement, ICD-10 will also affect how clinicians document patient care. 1907: Interdisciplinary Med Reconciliation - That Works!

This session will present the collective experience of a community hospital moving from manual, paper-based Medication Reconciliation to an automated, electronic process. The panel will discuss the challenges of the original paper-based system, changes required to automate, and the clinical improvements / outcomes that resulted from the initiative. The process will be reviewed from the physician, nursing, pharmacy, and patient perspectives.

4107: Horizon Quality Monitor:  Early Results from the Beta Partners

Horizon Quality Monitor is a new product from McKesson that gives clinicians patient-specific, real-time feedback on adherence to accepted standards of care, such as the ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) prevention bundle. By presenting status of key quality process components in real time, Horizon Quality Monitor helps relieve the cognitive burden on clinicians to remember all the details of multi-step quality processes comprised of time-bound tasks. This transparency supports consistent process adherence and optimal patient care. Representatives from the three organizations piloting this innovative solution, HealthEast Care System, Eisenhower Medical Center, and Saint Luke's Health System, will discuss their deployment results to date.

6605: Jersey Health Connect A Collaborative Framework of Community Stakeholders

Explore the development of Jersey Health Connect a Health Information Exchange (HIE) created by providers located in Northern and Central New Jersey.  The HIE connects more than 25 healthcare facilities, 2 large practice groups, and 700 physicians.  The collaborative approach provides electronic access to aggregated heatlh information at the point of care.
