Horizon Clinicals Provides EHR and Physician Connectivity for Large University Hospital

Saint Peter's University Hospital has partnered with McKesson to deploy electronic health records (EHRs) and connect physicians across multiple care settings. This technology investment is designed to enable participation in a community health information exchange (HIE). In addition, the hospital expects to qualify for American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) stimulus incentives.
The 478-bed teaching hospital in New Brunswick, N.J., will implement Horizon Clinicals® software throughout the hospital, adopting computerized physician order entry (CPOE), patient records, bar-coded medication administration and electronic documentation of patient care technologies.
