Current InSight Volunteers share their experiences with InSight:
I have been involved as a volunteer for InSight for several years, having served in the past as the Education Chair for Series Clinicals and more recently as the Enhancement Chair for Paragon Resource Management. The benefits to volunteering are very rewarding. Through my involvement as an InSight volunteer, I have established networking relationships with other McKesson users as well as McKesson executives. As the Enhancement Chair, I coordinate the enhancement process and monthly conference calls; this keeps me energized and motivated. I also have had the opportunity to participate in focus groups and assisted in the development of the Paragon Resource Management Product line. All of these opportunities have made volunteering very rewarding both personally and professionally.
-Dee Hoger, Spencer Hospital, Spencer, Iowa
When I was first approached about running for Education Chair, I was not sure how I would do with it if I were elected. I knew there were plenty of other people who had been using or supporting the application for much longer than I; however, I also knew that it would be a great opportunity. I was elected to the position, and the past two years have been full of unique learning experiences, first-hand interaction with my product developers/managers, and networking opportunities that I may not have gotten otherwise. All in all, the experience alone makes it worth volunteering!
-Heather Eastridge, PMM SIG Chair 2010, Shands Jacksonville Medical Center
I joined InSight in 2006, and was elected to PCA Education SIG Chair by my peers in 2007. I have held this title for over three years. It has been a wonderful networking opportunity that has been very beneficial in the fact that I have a group to reach out to when I need help in my job. Everyone in our group is always ready to help each other in a time of crisis. I look forward to seeing familiar faces at the conference, and to meet new friends that I will enjoy lasting relationships with. It has been wonderful building a close working relationship with my McKesson Liaison, Dawn Mobley, while also getting to know the PCA Development Team. Having this opportunity to help all PCA customers and learning from them is priceless.
