Englewood Hospital and Medical Center Prepares to Qualify for Stimulus Incentives

In an initiative to better serve their patient community while qualifying for incentives under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), Englewood Hospital and Medical Center is implementing new healthcare information technology (HIT) from McKesson. The 520-bed medical center in Bergen County, N.J., will replace its existing clinical systems with McKesson Horizon Clinicals® solutions, including computerized physician order entry, point-of-care bar-code medication administration for patient safety, and interdisciplinary clinical documentation for nurses and physicians. ARRA Update – Meaningful Use and Certification Rules

On Jan. 13, the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) published the proposed meaningful use and interim final certification rules that healthcare providers and vendors will need to meet under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). McKesson’s Stimulus Team is reviewing and interpreting the latest requirements. Our analysis is focused on ensuring that our electronic health record (EHR) products are well positioned to meet the requirements for certification as soon as possible.
