President's Message - March 2008
Greetings,
At InSight, it’s easy to recognize the benefits of membership. From the InSight Annual Conference, to year-round educational opportunities like the CIO Forum to the launch of the new Website, equipped with online collaboration tools like Discussion Forums, a member does not have to search long to find the education and resources needed to further their knowledge. Through these programs, we continue to strengthen both the InSight community and the healthcare industry.
In order to keep the InSight community collaborative, the education relevant and the member benefits strong, InSight needs solid leadership. That’s why volunteerism is critical to this organization.
As a volunteer, you maximize your benefits of membership. InSight’s role as the largest McKesson user group allows you to interact with leaders in the healthcare industry and enables you to strengthen your role as a leader at your own facility and/or organization.
Currently positions are open within the 2009 InSight Board and Committees. Within each of these roles, volunteers have the chance to directly impact InSight as an organization, shape the direction and focus of educational content, and influence the direction of McKesson.
In addition to Board positions, InSight also welcomes volunteers to run for leadership positions within Special Interest Groups (SIGs) or future InSight Task Forces.
I encourage you to look around www.insight-net.org to find the number of volunteer opportunities within InSight. Apply yourself or nominate a member you feel would fit the bill.
Best regards,
Janet Stanek
2008 InSight President
