Optimize Your InSight Investment by Attending a Half-Day or Full-Day Pre Conference Workshop
Wednesday, September 9
[At the Annual Conference] it is especially worthwhile to connect with other McKesson customers and learn from their experiences. It gives me the opportunity to learn what to expect on future implementations and it is invaluable in the planning process.”

Customers will take a guided tour through the actual development of a simple JSR 168 portlet, from analysis to development to installation. Customers will learn step-by-step how to evaluate functional requirements and map them to the framework of a portlet, how to build a complete portlet “from the ground up,” how to read and write user and default preferences, how to access the user and patient context, and how to install the portlet in the portal, all using the JSR 168 standard, the new model for Horizon Physician Portal 13. Join us for a fast-paced, interactive and fun session that will provide a practical “advanced introduction” to the Horizon Portal Foundation Development Kit. Participants should have some experience with Java, JSP and HTML.

102: Horizon Clinicals Reporting — Structure, Creation, Tips and Tricks

This Pre Conference wWrkshop will focus on teaching participants about the types of reports available with Horizon Clinicals and provide tips and tricks on how to access or create reports. Canned reports, business objects, clinical query and the Oracle Reporting Tool will be discussed.

103: Advanced HPM/HBI Applications

The speakers will share their favorite techniques for getting the most from HPM applications, including cost accounting, data extensibility and encounter analysis. Actual customer examples will be used, including step-by-step instructions. The class will also cover use of HBI and HBI SQL Server applications to complement use of HPM.

104: HBI 14.0 and SQL Server 2005 New Tools and Features

This in depth session will provide participants an understanding of new HBI 14.0 and SQL 2005 features. Participants will learn how to identify duplicate records, create custom reports including setting up parameters and inserting graphics in Reporting Services, and use Iinking to pass parameters to Reporting Services. In addition, participants will receive an overview of SISS and Dashboards in 14.0. Participants are invited to discuss their own current advanced HBI solutions, projects, and issues.

105: Star Vista SQL: Accessing the Star Database with ODBC Applications

This session will focus on accessing the Star SQL tables using the ODBC connections. Some of the applications that will be shown are Crystal Reports, Microsoft Access and Microsoft Word. Using these applications and the ODBC connection can cross database reporting, standardization of applications used and much more.
