Greetings!
I recently took some time to reflect on the accomplishments and plans for the remainder of the year. Like many of you I am often challenged by the demands of my professional and personal life so recognizing the milestones and successes through the year is an important factor in keeping me motivated. I hope each of you is taking the time to recognize the work you do and celebrating the many successes you have experienced in the last 6 months.
InSight has made changes this year and continues to focus on delivering value to its members through providing education and collaboration opportunities. The upcoming InSight Annual Conference in Nashville is a great opportunity to meet many of your peers and establish relationships. I am pleased to announce that our V3 partners, Dell, Intel and Oracle have renewed their relationship with InSight and will be co-sponsoring with McKesson and InSight the CIO Agenda @ InSight Annual Conference. I encourage each of you to register and take advantage of this valuable opportunity.
As President Elect it has become necessary for me to step into the role as President for the remainder of the year due to the resignation of John Meharg. It is unfortunate that this occurred however, because of the organizations well defined succession plan, InSight has been able to demonstrate flexibility in a changing environment that is so critical to successful organizations. I want to take the opportunity to thank the Board of Directors for their support and especially John for his leadership and contributions to InSight. John was a great example to me because of his ability to facilitate a diverse team and his high ethical standards.
I thought I would close by providing you a brief summary of my background. I am currently the Vice President and CIO for Saint Luke’s Health System (SLHS) located in Kansas City, Missouri. SLHS has been a long time customer with McKesson having installed its Revenue Cycle Management solutions, document management, medical imaging and clinical suite of products. I am a graduate of the University of Missouri with a BS degree in Health Services Management and Masters Degree in Business Administration. I have been a member of InSight for several years and am an active member of ACHE, CHIME, HIMSS national, and ACMPE. I am a Certified Medical Practice Executive and Certified Profession in Health Information and Management Systems. I am looking forward to seeing you at the the InSight Annual Conference in September and look forward a successful second half of the year.
