I have been involved with InSight for several years as a member and was recently elected to the Board of Directors. I immediately recognized that there are incredible benefits to volunteerism. Through my participation, I have established many relationships with peers and McKesson executives which has enabled me to bring knowledge back to my organization about McKesson products and services. I have the opportunity to collaborate and learn from others which has been tremendously helpful in several McKesson implementations. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to impact the strategic direction of some of the McKesson products in development by participating in committees and focus groups. I became a member of InSight several years again order to better understand our product and to network with other McKesson customers. Since that time, I have served actively in a SIG group, including a year as chair. The experience of interacting with other McKesson users, ranging from innovative experts to front line users loaded with experience, has been informative, useful and open to a dialogue on best practices. The benefits of being an InSight Volunteer are too numerous to count: networking is at the top of my list. Not only do I get to know users with the same products that I have at my facility, but I also have input into what is offered at the Insight Annual Conference. By being an Insight volunteer, I also keep informed about what is going on not only with our user group, but I have been developing relationships with McKesson staff, this helps me keep current on what is happening with the McKesson products.
