    SIG Enhancement Chair Job Description

    POSITION SUMMARY:
    The SIG Enhancement Chair leads all enhancement activities of the SIG and is the key contact with vendor and Council Chairs regarding the enhancements for his/her assigned SIG.

    ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    1. Responsible for bimonthly review and categorization of all CSEs for his/her SIG in cooperation with the McKesson Liaison and Product Managers as appropriate.
    2. Posts results of review and categorization of CSEs to the Enhancement Forum before and after the discussion phase.
    3. Facilitates the enhancements discussion phase.
    4. If necessary, appoints members to a Customer Advisory Group (CAG)..
    5. If necessary, acts as the lead on the CAG, including coordinating and scheduling CAG conf calls, leading CAG discussions, taking minutes, and providing a report to InSight and McKesson.
    6. Serves as a member of the Council and works with vendor Product Managers and SIG Liaisons to prioritize and implement user requests for product enhancement.
    7. Assists  SIG Chair of Education as necessary
    8. Assists as directed by the Board.
    9. Consistently meets Enhancement Categorization Review deadlines.
    10. Assists the Committee Chair in managing the functions of the Committee as directed and within budget as applicable.
    11. Initiate contact with new members through welcome letters, working in conjunction with the New Member Mentor Program.
    12. Attends no less than 80% of required meetings.

    ROLE EXPECTATIONS: 

    1. Prepares agendas for all CAG meetings if necessary.  
    2. Monitors progress of outstanding SIG issues/resolutions and communicates them to the SIG membership as appropriate.
    3. Monitors the Enhancement Forum postings to insure that appropriate information is presented to the membership, with support from the McKesson liaison.
    4. Performs the following functions during the Conference:
      Presents an overview of the InSight SIG Enhancement Process.
      Assists the SIG Education Chair with SIG breakout sessions as needed.
      Solicits volunteers for any CAGs as necessary.
      With SIG Chair of Education, formally conducts the SIG election process for chair and committee position vacancies as required.
      With the SIG Chair of Education, prepares written reports of the SIG meeting proceedings for communication to the membership, as appropriate.
    5. Attends the following functions:
      Pre-conference meeting at the beginning of each conference accompanied by the SIG Liaison.
      New attendee welcome function for his/her Council at the beginning of the Conference.
      Council Meetings
      Any specially scheduled meetings to which SIG Chairs are invited.

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    1. Able to commit the time required for the term of office.
    2. Able to attend the Annual Conference, including pre- and post-conference meetings.
    3. Must be an individual member, as defined in the bylaws.
    4. Must have demonstrated an active interest in the purposes and goals of the Corporation.
    5. Must have the backing of his/her employer institution and have access to the Internet with e-mail.
    6. Must be able to perform the duties of the office.

    TERM OF OFFICE:
    This position is a two year term, to begin on January 1 of the year following the year in which he or she was elected. This position may be re-elected by the SIG. In the event that the SIG Enhancement Chair cannot fill an entire term, the SIG Education Chair may succeed to the position, or another candidate may be appointed by the Enhancement Council Chair.
