Volunteering With InSight
Committee Leadership Positions
InSight has launched four new committees in 2015. If you interested in participating in any of these committees, please contact the leader below.
SIG Leadership Positions
If you want to take a leadership position within InSight, consider a SIG leadership position. The SIGs help develop the year-round education for their product group and play an active role in the program for InSight's Annual Conference. They also act as the lead for the Enhancements process for their SIG with McKesson. SIG leaders receive a discounted rate to the annual InSight Conference and are situated in a highly respected leadership role.

Current InSight Volunteers share their experiences with InSight:
"I have been a volunteer as a SIG Chair for HQ SIG, as Chair of Enhancements for the Revenue Cycle and as Director of Membership. Volunteering has given me the opportunity to work closely with InSight members to improve the member experience and to work closely with McKesson to improve the HQ products. This experience has been very rewarding. It has given me the opportunity to forge new friendships with fellow volunteers and members and I have benefited from their vast knowledge and experiences. I can tell you that you will not regret becoming a volunteer."
- Rodney Bryant, Dir IT Patient Systems, UAMS
"Volunteering as the Insight SIG Chair of Enhancements for STAR Patient Accounting has given me the opportunity to work closely with McKesson staff and InSight members to improve the STAR product. I've had the opportunity to meet many users who are extremely knowledgeable and offer great ideas and suggestions. These same users have become a valuable resource that I look to when I need help in resolving any issues at my facility. I feel that my participation as an InSight Volunteer has made me a stronger manager and user."
- Bea Holmes, STAR Patient Accounting SIG Chair of Enhancements
"I am fast approaching the end of my second two year term as the Education Chair for Horizon Surgical Manager. I wasn’t sure at first what the requirements were nor the time commitment involved, but I shortly realized the benefits of being a part of something and feeling like you’re making a difference out weighted my trepidation.
Developing relationships with the McKesson liaisons along with establishing a rapport with my colleagues has been both rewarding and beneficial to my career in healthcare. This networking opportunity has been wonderful. My advice to folks who might be considering volunteering, join the fun, you won’t regret it."
- Laurel Townsend-Long, Horizon Surgical Manager
