InSight would like to thank our Volunteer of the Month, Terri Reese, for all of her hard work with the PCON SIG! Read more about Terri and her InSight experience below.
Terri Reese, UPMC
I am honored to be nominated as the SIG Chair Volunteer of the Month. I appreciate the opportunity to lead the PCON User Group. I’ve enjoyed the challenges of learning the new website and transitioning our entire process to the new website.
I work for UPMC, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As Supervisor, I oversee the PCON System for Corporate Revenue Cycle. We use PCON to post automated contractual adjustments into our HQ Patient Accounting System. I’ve been using PCON for 13 years. I’ve written several contract rules for our organization and have worked with many McKesson representatives throughout the years. Currently, we have 13 hospitals on PCON.
I’ve been an INSIGHT Member for quite a few years. My volunteer position as SIG Chair of Enhancements for PCON began in 2012. Being an INSIGHT volunteer, I’ve gained a better understanding of the enhancement process and the assurance that all users experience the same challenges. With the accelerated communication process from the website, we are able to stay abreast of the current changes and enhancement opportunities available. The ongoing communication amongst the users and the monthly meetings keeps the information flowing and bridges communication gaps. I consistently relay information to the UPMC group on the CSEs in process, rule requests available, current patches, and release level’s.
Most of all, I enjoy working with the users and the McKesson representatives. It is nice to hear stories from other hospitals and their use of the product(s). By reviewing the requests on the monthly call has given me the broad spectrum of the Revenue Cycle product lines. I see the user group as a “Team”. We are working toward the unified goal of making PCON work as effective, efficient, and accurate as possible.
I encourage the INSIGHT Volunteers / Non Volunteers to utilize the website and explore its possibilities. Don’t be afraid to welcome new technologies and the advances available. Join your SIG Calls and add your product(s) to “My Communities”; get involved in a discussion or start a discussion. The INSIGHT website is the fastest way to get involved, and it is free. Additionally, I have attended a few INSIGHT Conferences and have given presentations. The conference is a wonderful opportunity get involved and network.
