Greetings!
It is with pleasure that I report to the membership that our recent Nashville Conference was a tremendous success. In attendance were over 2100 members focused on information sharing education and networking.
What a sight watching various SIG’s, CIO’s, Clinicians, IT Professionals and Physicians sharing best practices, dialoging about what works and doesn’t, and learning about the future developments in McKesson Software Solutions. Of course, how could I not mention our Friday gala in celebration of “Guitar Town” that filled the dance floor well into the late hours of the night.
This year’s conference provided the launch of new educational opportunities geared toward our Chief Information Officers (CIO’s). The CIO agenda enabled IT leaders to come together to learn about McKesson’s strategic direction; interact with McKesson product managers and executives; and participate in round table sessions providing peer-to-peer exchanges of key healthcare IT topics. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and please be on the look out for more information on additional education opportunities for all InSight members.
Our strategic partnership with McKesson continues to grow as was reinforced by comments by both Pam Pure, President, and John Hammergren, Chairman of the Board, McKesson, during the general session. Each spoke of the commitment we share to make health care safer. It was great to learn of the advocacy efforts the McKesson leadership performs for health care IT at our nation’s highest levels and how instrumental InSight’s partnership is to achieve our shared goal.
I hope that everyone had the opportunity to spend time at the Product Solution Center to see all the new technology advancements. Exhibitor participation was at an all time high this year with McKesson and many affiliates and partners sharing their solutions and services. I want to thank all the companies who participated in the conference and a special thanks to our V3 partners Oracle, Dell and Intel for their partnership and support.
I am grateful that this year’s conference provided me the opportunity to meet face to face with so many of the InSight membership, leaders not only from the United States but internationally. I thank everyone for their support, attendance and energy that was so evident during the time we spent in Nashville. Please be assured that each member of the Board is committed to leverage the successes of this year’s conference, your feedback, and lessons learned to strengthen the value of InSight Annual Conference in the future.
In closing, I would be remise if I did not acknowledge the outstanding team effort, led by InSight’s V.P. of Education, Nancy Goessler, in her efforts in planning and executing this year’s conference. Also, many thanks to the InSight headquartered staff for there support throughout the year, our success could not have happened without you!
We look forward to seeing everyone at the 2007 InSight Annual Conference, in Atlanta, Georgia, October 18-20, 2007.
