President's Message - January 2007

Greetings!

A New Year will traditionally bring the sense of a fresh start where we can set goals for ourselves on a personal and a professional level.  We tend to feel a bit more inspired at this time of year as the new calendar can represent a clean slate for those very goals to be achieved.  The good fortune we’ve had with warm January weather can only be adding to our reenergized attitude as well.

But for this first NewsLink of the year, I’d like to ask that one of your goals be related to InSight, where you can dedicate efforts to peer to peer communications via the Discussion Forums on the Web site.  This is an invaluable tool we have at our disposal.  Through these forums we can communicate on a direct level as the capability exists to pose new questions by starting “threads” or building off existing threads with new postings. 

This is a perfect example of maximizing your membership.  If during the course of your work day you encounter a problem, one of your automatic reactions should be to search the Discussion Forums for a solution.  If a solution does not exist, feel free to start a thread surrounding this issue.  This tool builds teamwork amongst InSight’s membership as we strive to solve issues and help one another with McKesson products.

To participate in the Discussion Forums all you need is your InSight login and password.  Once inside, you will notice forums that focus on General Discussion (including Best Practices and General Issues), Infrastructure, Clinical Management, Resource Management, Revenue Cycle Management and International.  I see this as a tool that not nearly enough of us are taking advantage of.

I would challenge you to make the committed effort every couple days this year to peruse the forums and offer up your own thoughts on the various existing topics or create your own.

Idea sharing and connecting with other members in 2007 will make InSight more relevant and grow our membership.  Put your New Year inspiration to good use and get going on these forums!
