From the President - Janet Stanek |
|
Greetings,
Here at InSight, everything we do, we do well. The
InSight Annual Conference has been our front-runner for the past
several years and continues to get stronger. Through McKesson
acquisitions, our flagship event has grown into an even more robust
and diverse community with new programming and customers to enhance
the experience.
But InSight is more than just a once-a-year event.
It has been our continued mission to have InSight be your year-round
resource for education and networking. To deliver on that mission,
InSight is dedicated to providing 24/7/365
education and community involvement through a number of avenues,
|
|
including: our CIO Forum Webinar
Series, topical, industry insights funneled through our
strategic partnership with our V3
Partners and the continued advancement of our Web
site highlights such as the Discussion Forums and the new Web site Change Request Tool which provides
members a direct channel to make an impact on the direction of
insight-net.org.
All the tools and access to events mean little
without the support of the membership to keep topics relevant and
the focus of education on track.

Top-Rated Paragon HIS and Practice Partner EHR
Connect Providers for Instant Access to Patient Data across Care
Settings |
|
A record number of community hospitals are
implementing McKesson’s Paragon® community hospital information system
(HIS) and its CCHIT-certified Practice Partner® electronic health record (EHR) and practice management solution. These top-rated
systems connect physician practices to the hospital, enabling
instant access to the most comprehensive patient information. !
Hospitals take advantage of their existing
technology infrastructure to house and support the integrated EHR.
Both the hospital and physicians gain workflow efficiencies by
integrating laboratory and radiology orders between the practice and
the hospital. As an example, the solutions deliver electronic
laboratory and radiology results directly to the physician's work
queue and provide immediate access to view them from the practice or
the hospital. Additionally, the integrated systems eliminate the
need for a referred patient to re-register when presenting at the
hospital.
During the past 12 months, more than 10 community
hospitals nationwide have partnered with local physicians to deploy
EHR technology and e-prescribing solutions. Participating physicians
and the local hospital alike gain ready access to patient allergies
and medical histories, enabling more informed treatment decisions, a
better patient experience, and ultimately improved treatment
outcomes. Read the press release for more details. |
