Hello Carl DavyRomano! Here is what is happening.

From the President

Greetings,

It's evident we all work in a challenging industry. It's our job to make the most of our McKesson technologies. We make tough decisions, look for ways to create efficiencies and improve processes in high- pressure environments. Thanks to InSight, we can lean on one another for help.

That's why I am truly proud of the great strides InSight has made alongside McKesson in program and community growth.

Through recent McKesson acquisitions, RelayHealth, ANSOS One-Staff and ORSOS One-Call customers have been welcomed to our community. So that InSight and McKesson continue to partner to provide us with not only the technologies but the tools and channels to maximize these solutions,

InSight has created programming that focuses specifically on these customers' specific needs.

For this year's conference in October, the InSight Annual Conference team, led by Amy Thorpe, Vice President Education, and Jasmine Holloway, Director Education, has built tracks around RelayHealth, ANSO One-Staff and ORSOS One-Call products. I look forward to exchanging with customers of these newest product/service groups to see where their viewpoints and questions can reinforce the educational return I'm getting at this year's event and beyond.

CIO Forum: Designed for CIOs and Top IT Executives*

CIO Forum at the Annual Conference
Designed specifically for CIOs, by CIOs, this unique event-within-an-event provides CIOs and top IT executives access to one another and McKesson leaders for the betterment of their businesses and professions.

Where some education tends to be more technical, the CIO Forum is designed to inspire critical strategic thinking between CIOs and top IT executives sharing similar roles and experiences. It also brings McKesson top executives into the fold so that companies stay tapped into the direction of McKesson and can better leverage their technology investments.

CIO Forum Web Series
Following a successful CIO Forum Webcast launch, held on July 26, with more than 50 CIOs signed up for the first event, McKesson, in partnership with InSight is presenting the August CIO Forum Webcast: Simplifying the Delivery of Hospital Test Results to Your Physician, Practices and Patients.

Through this Webcast, CIOs and top IT executives will learn and exchange on ways RelayHealth Results Distribution Service can:

  • Strengthen physician relationships
  • Protect revenue streams
  • Minimize further IT investments

Additionally, CIOs will engage in discussion around how RelayHealth's innovative Results Distribution Service creates a simplified experience for both enterprise hospitals in sending test results and affiliated physicians offices in receiving lab, transcription and radiology results electronically - whether they have an EMR or not.

Whether you're a CIO and/or top IT executive or whether you think your CIO would be interested in participating in either of these events, send a note to ciopeers@insight-net.org for details.

*This program is designed for and offered only to CIOs and top IT executives within a company.

McKesson Offers Visibility Into Enterprise Patient Care

If capacity management and patient throughput are priorities for your organization, you'll be interested in the latest addition to McKesson's solution portfolio. McKesson has acquired Birmingham, Ala.-based Awarix, Inc., one of the first companies to offer an enterprise patient care visibility system. This innovative solution helps to eliminate the bottlenecks that delay treatment and extend the patient stay by providing better management of capacity and patient throughput. To highlight activity and patient status, the system provides color-coded, at-a-glance views of the full hospital's floor plan mounted throughout the facility.

According to a recent Institute of Medicine report, 91 percent of the nation's emergency departments report overcrowding as a problem, with 73 percent of surveyed hospitals diverting at least two patients per day to a different hospital due to capacity issues. The Awarix system is designed to alleviate these problems by driving workflow and wait-time improvements, which are particularly important in the emergency room. For more information, read the press release or visit the Awarix Website.
