ORSOS One-Call
Preference Cards - Now and in the Future
Kathy Hayden MHA, RN, CNOR, McKesson Technologies Solution
What kind of shape are your preference cards in? Do you need a review of all the options when building preference cards? Are you aware of the newest reports to help manage this daunting task? Preference Cards are the backbone to the ORSOS One-Call solution. This session will help you understand the importance of the feature and how it drives everything from accurate scheduling to supply charges – and beyond. This session will review the capabilities of building and maintaining your cards. In addition, if you attend this session, you’ll see a preview of the exiting new functionality coming in the soon-to-be released Preference Card Manager which makes building and maintaining your preference cards seem easy.
Best Kept Secrets – Little Known/Underutilized Features in ORSOS One-Call
Sandy Jones, Henry County Hospital; Betty Konopasek, McKesson Technologies Solutions
Do you know how Questions can be used during the scheduling to make the process more complete and accurate? Do you know the power of Procedure Protocols? Have you ever noticed those little symbols (< > * ↓ ↑) in the slot view of your appointment book? Have you wondered what on earth do they mean? How did they get there and how can they help me? Do you know how to JBAS? Juggle, Bump, and Swap (JBAS) are functions to help you reorganize cases quickly and easily. Do you know the new utilities and system preferences? If you want to learn some new tricks, plan to attend this session.
Perioperative Documentation – Web Style
Nancy Ilk, McKesson Technologies Solutions
One of the most exciting new options to come along in quite some time is the Web Perioperative Documentation and the corresponding Chart Builder. The new web periop allows complete control and flexibility of the documentation process including the ability to define procedure-specific chart sets, as well as a variety of ways to document on the form, e.g. check boxes, radio buttons, required fields, date and time fields, free text, scroller areas to easily allow multiple pieces of information, pre-defined codes to ensure consistency in the documentation process and links to past surgical cases. Screen building tools use simple drag and drop technology, find the desired data element and drag it over to the screen. See how the web periop documentation and the chart builder will help you and your staff document, as well as build and maintain your forms in the most flexible and streamlined fashion.
Decision Support – What Modules Do We Need?
Andrea Bouronich, McKesson Technologies Solutions
Choosing all the right modules to support the ORSOS One-Call base system is sometimes a difficult choice. “I’ll take one from column A, and one from column B, but which one sounds good with the other? Which ones will satisfy me the best?” Selecting the right modules to compliment your facilities’ needs is much like choosing from a menu. You have to ask questions, you have to know the functionality of each module and you have to know the advantages a given module will add to your ORSOS One-Call system. This session is geared toward giving you the menu of available add-on modules and then helping you make the best choices given your unique needs.
The Power of Perpetual Inventory in the OR
Tom Peterman, Jersey Shore University Medical Center; Aaron Ritchey, McKesson Technologies Solutions
Let an experts show you how he uses the Inventory functionality available in ORSOS One-Call to enhance system usage. The ins and outs of automating the supply chain will be discussed in this session. Let someone who has been through it all tell you what he has learned, what to avoid and how valuable the Inventory functionality is when used in the correct way.
Silence in the Scheduling Office – Web Scheduling
Betty Konopasek, McKesson Provider Technologies
How many faxes do you receive in one day for cases to be scheduled? 10? 20? 30? How many of those faxes can you actually read? How much time do your schedulers spend trying to schedule cases by information provided over the phone? This session focuses on the Web Provider Access Module to help you reduce the number of phone calls and faxes you get during the day. As a web-based option, this allows you to give your remote physician offices the opportunity to send in a request via the Internet. Also, in this session, you’ll see a sneak preview of the new Web Provider Access Module, due to be released soon. The new module offers much more flexibility in the content and layout of the screens; the screens are completely user defined and may be made so with ease using drag and drop technology. Be sure you sign up for this session so you don’t miss out on seeing this module and how it can improve communications and workflow between your scheduling office and your remote physician offices.
