Dedication and Diligence within InSight Membership
The snow has melted and the mercury is on the rise - spring is in the air! After a long winter, the newly extended daylight hours and warmer temperatures always seem to wake up my senses and make me want to become more involved. As an InSight member, you are already halfway there. Volunteering is a great way to advance professionally, and I strongly recommend each of you take part in such an experience. But, if you do not feel ready to take that step this month, be sure you are utilizing all of the benefits InSight offers to ensure you are maximizing the quality of your membership.
The need for a user group like InSight has never been greater. In part, we owe our thanks to the late Tom Utley for creating this great organization. As I mentioned last month, it was with Tom's passion and dedication to his profession that this user group was born. In his honor, the Tom Utley Member Achievement Award was formed to celebrate our sincere and ongoing appreciation for his efforts annually.
I encourage you to take the time to nominate a deserving member today. You can do so by visiting InSight online and filling out a nomination form today. As the saying goes, "Do not put off until tomorrow, what you can do today."
Upon building the foundation for InSight in 1998, a professional structure was instated to help guide the organization down the right path by following our mission. Today, InSight has matured and I know Tom would be proud of the great strides our organization has made. We are growing in numbers, benefits and strength each year because of our numerous volunteers who help to keep InSight strong and productive.
Many of these volunteers are members of InSight committees. It is important that we all have a basic understanding of these committees, what they do and who serves on them. Our e-newsletter, NewsLink, does a great job of keeping all of us up to date. I encourage you to continue utilizing this excellent communications tool.
Additionally, I would personally like to help introduce you to our dedicated committee's each month. Without their dedication, InSight would be unable to deliver the benefits that we do, such as the Annual Conference, the enhancement process and our growing online community.
This month, I would like to thank you to our Conference Planning Committee. This group works to bring you the most exciting conference program possible each year. Currently, this group is working the fine details of the event, stay tuned for a message for messages from InSight about registration going live, discounts, special events and more.
They are also dedicated to planning the McKesson Headquarters tour, which has proven to be an extremely popular member benefit. For details about this and the other exciting opportunities that the conference offers, please be sure to stay tuned in to the Annual Conference section of the InSight Web site.
The Conference Planning Committee is also brainstorming ideas for this year's Friday Night Reception and other conference related Networking events. They are also actively identifying partners for you to engage with in this Product Solution Center
Without this committee, the benefits we all receive from the InSight Annual Conference would be far less. I applaud the entire committee for their continued efforts and look forward to another successful event.
Again, there are many other InSight committees, and I will continue to update you on their efforts each month. If you have any questions or would like to find out more about getting involved in a committee, please don't hesitate to email me at jonesc@slhn.org. Remember, this is your organization. Please utilize all of its benefits to the fullest.
