Healthcare is large-scale, fast-moving, critical to our quality of life, and a key driver to the world economy. There are many different moving parts: capital investments are being made enterprise-wide; Congress is beginning to play an active role, through resolutions like HIPPA and mandates like barcode adoption; breakthrough clinical discoveries are being made, both procedural and medicinal. A tremendous amount of public awareness has come to light about the role of the payors, with the proliferation of HMOs and the trickle-down ramifications.

The first 2005 Enhancement voting period begins on 02.21.05 and closes on 03.04.05. The following SIGs will be voted on during the February Enhancement voting period: Horizon Meds Manager, Paragon Clinical Applications, Paragon Resource Management, Paragon Revenue Cycle Management, Paragon Technology & Standards, Pathways Healthcare Scheduling, and Pathways Materials Management.

The enhancement improvement project task force is currently being formed and is planning to meet in mid-February. More information to follow in the coming months!

Nominations for the Tom Utley Achievement Award are accepted on a continuous basis with a 07.01.05 deadline. The goal of the Tom Utley Achievement Award is to recognize those who lead by example. Any volunteer, regardless of position, who demonstrates passion and dedication to InSight, like Tom did, is encouraged to apply.
