Enhancing the InSight Experience in 2006 - From the President
December is a month when giving to others becomes second nature.
Smiles are easily found, office parties are in full swing, and the New Year is right around the corner.
Each month we stress how critical volunteers are to InSight and I would be remiss if I did not take a moment to ask that you think of those less fortunate at this time of year, and how volunteering in a variety of ways can add value to so many lives in your area.

In Memory: Emily A. Nudelman
InSight would like to send their heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends of Emily A. Nudelman.
Emily passed away 11.21.05 at the age of 55.
A former InSight President and most recently, Vice President of Finance, she was a leader within the InSight board, advocating for strategic governance principles and playing an integral role in InSight's transition to its current association management company.
Emily was a directer of operations for information services for Providence Health System in Oregon for 28 years.
In memory of Emily, InSight has donated $500 to the Nursing Education Fund at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. Click here if you would like to make a donation.

Present at the 2006 InSight Annual Conference!
The 2006 InSight Annual Conference Education Committee is seeking speakers to present user-to-user education.
Share your knowledge of real world solutions to everyday issues or your experiences with tips, trick or lessons learned on implementation, upgrades or integrations, by becoming a presenter at next year's conference.
Some hot topics that our Education Committee members have identified as of interest to InSight conference attendees include:

SIG Leadership Open Positions
InSight is currently still looking for active members to fill the open SIG leadership positions.
There are six open SIG Chair positions for the following SIGs: Horizon Medical Imaging, Series Radiology/Order, Communications/Nursing, STAR Medical Records, STAR Pharmacy, STAR Physician Products and TRENDSTAR.
There are 16 open SIG Vice Chair positions for the following SIGs: Horizon Medical Imaging, Horizon Performance Manager, HorizonWP Revenue Cycle Products, Mobile Computing, Paragon Resource Management, Paragon Technology & Standards, Series Finance, Series Health Information Management, Series Radiology/Order Communications/Nursing, STAR Medical Records, STAR MIS, STAR Pharmacy, STAR Physician Products, Technology Services, and TRENDSTAR.
It is very important that all these positions get filled so if you're interested, please contact that SIG's Council Chair.

New Enhancement Process Update!
In 2005, InSight formed a task force to revise their current enhancement process.
Following a face-to-face meeting in Atlanta and several conference calls, the task force introduced the new process titled "Strategic Product Change Model."
In the fall, the task force held two Web casts and two sessions at the 2005 InSight Annual Conference to introduce this model to the membership and gain feedback.
Based on member feedback, the task force revised the model and finalized its details.
The Strategic Product Change Model will allow both members and non-members to submit and discuss Customer Satisfaction Enhancements (CSEs).
CSEs will no longer be voted on, but will instead be categorized and prioritized based on customer discussions, as well as SIG Chair and McKesson Liaison expertise.
The more strategic CSEs will be further reviewed and prioritized by Customer Advisory Groups (CAGs), small focus groups made up of InSight members, SIG chairs, McKesson Liaisons and McKesson Product Managers.
Currently, the task force is working hard to produce all necessary documentation and online resources to support the Strategic Product Change Model.
In January 2006, the task force will be communicating the final process and launch date to the membership.
