Maximizing the Quality of Your Membership- From the President

The snow has melted and the mercury is on the rise--spring is in the air! After a long winter, the newly extended daylight hours and warmer temperatures always seem to wake up my senses and make me want to become more involved. As an InSight member, you are already halfway there. Volunteering is a great way to advance professionally, and I strongly recommend each of you take part in such an experience. But, if you do not feel ready to take that step this month, be sure you are utilizing all of the benefits InSight offers to ensure you are maximizing the quality of your membership.

Tom Utley Member Achievement Award: Now Accepting Nominations!

Nominate a deserving member for the prestigious Tom Utley Member Achievement Award. For those of you who don't know, Tom was a former CIO at Merritt-Peralta Medical Center in Palo Alto, California. Essentially, InSight was formed in 1998 because of his dedication and commitment. The Tom Utley Member Achievement Award was created in his memory, honoring his many contributions to this user group.

Nominations for the Tom Utley Achievement Award are accepted on a continuous basis with a July 1 deadline. The goal of the Tom Utley Achievement Award is to recognize those who lead by example. Any InSight volunteer, with the exception of current officers, directors, affiliates, consultants, members of the award committee and previous recipients, are eligible.

The recipient will receive a complimentary InSight membership for one year, free registration to the next annual conference and an engraved plaque in their honor.

If you know a deserving InSight member who demonstrates passion and dedication to InSight, like Tom did, we encourage you to nominate them today!

New Membership Profile and Directory on InSight Web Site!

InSight has implemented new software, eSeries, which directly links our online directory to our membership database. Members can now obtain quality, up-to-date information through the online membership directory, as well as use various new fields to search for membership information. In addition, members are now able to update their own information through their online member profile. Please visit InSight online, www.insight-net.org to view your profile today!

Enhancement Update

Enhancement Submission Deadline is Approaching
The deadline for submission of enhancements for the May voting period is Monday, May 9 th at 3:30pm CDT.

May Enhancement Voting Period
The May 2005 enhancement voting period will begin on May 23, 2005. To view the SIGs being voted on during the May voting period visit InSight online, www.insight-net.org, and click on the Document Repository/Education/Enhancement Documentation Library and choose 2005 Enhancement Voting Schedule.

Enhancement Improvement Project
The proposed new enhancement process will be piloted on specific SIGs during the May voting period. More information to follow in the coming months.

Call for Speakers Deadline is Today

Today's the deadline to submit an abstract to be considered as a potential presenter at this the 2005 InSight Annual Conference, taking place September 22-24 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta . InSight is seeking abstract submissions from McKesson customers who can impart their experiences and the lessons they've learned while implementing, integrating and upgrading, or reveal tips and tricks and case examples of how they've gotten the most out of McKesson products.

Conference Registration Opens in May

Interested in attending the 2005 InSight Annual Conference? To attend InSight's premier annual event, register for the conference beginning in May.
