InSight is upgrading the current Knowledge Repository to integrate with Google search to bring you more advanced search options. Look for improvements to this tool in the near future.

Performance Strategies: Using CPOE to Lead the Way in Safe, Effective Healthcare

The April issue of McKesson's Performance Strategies e-magazine features the winner and finalists of McKesson's 2009 Celebrating CPOE Success Award. The issue features articles by customers using McKesson's Horizon Expert Orders solution to help them improve patient outcomes and medication safety at their organizations.

Customers include CEO Mike Green of Concord Hospital, last year's winner and Decatur Memorial Hospital, this year's winner for using CPOE to improve its blood transfusion process. Finalists Dupont Hospital and WellStar Health System are also included. The issue features The Leapfrog Group's CEO, Leah Binder, who says there is an industry-wide need for best practices for implementing CPOE. McKesson's Bill Christopher notes that the "tipping point" has been reached, and now is the time to adopt and use a CPOE system.

McKesson Acquires OB Surveillance and Archival Capabilities

McKesson has acquired LMS Medical Systems intellectual property for obstetrics (OB) surveillance and archival capabilities. Currently marketed by McKesson as Horizon Perinatal Care, it is the first and only OB/perinatal information solution designed to support continuity of care between labor and delivery and other areas in the hospital.

Patient Compass Receives HFMA Peer Review Nod for Third Year

After an extensive review and input from many customers, Patient Compass has passed the stringent HFMA Peer Review requirements for the third year by demonstrating its ability to meet HFMA's high standards of the Peer Review program. The certification ensures that you can rely on HFMA's objective third-party evaluation of Patient Compass. You can also hear Patient Compass users review their experiences with the solution at HFMA ANI (June 14-17, Seattle) and other HFMA regional conferences.
