President's
Message |
|
In my first President’s Message, I begin
with thanking Janet Stanek for her leadership and support in 2008. I
plan to build upon the strong foundation that she set during her
presidency.
And with that, we enter into 2009. With a
new year comes change. Certainly, this year brings a great deal of
new challenges and in some cases, uncertainty. We all recognize that
the state of the economy will continue to make an impact on our
businesses and professions. Regardless of career level, profession,
or hospital/facility size, the challenges we are seeing today are
shared. To stay ahead of the pack, and help ourselves and our
organizations prosper, it’s important we show
leadership.
The value of user groups remains clear;
today’s economic state makes participation in user groups even more
critical. As an InSight member, I hope you’re taking full advantage
of your membership to keep you and your organization not only
equipped but business competitive.
As a community, you can see where your
participation in InSight keeps you a step ahead. Continue making the
most of your membership by:
Bridging your skill gaps:
Get the skills you need to keep you informed and marketable through
our flagship educational event, the InSight 2009 Annual Conference,
which takes place September 9-12 in Orlando, Florida. Aptly themed,
this year’s event offers educational programming that will help you
optimize your investments for highest return, create efficiencies
and improve productivity.
Maximizing your McKesson
investments: Get customer-document practices and approaches
through online resources, including our soon-to-come
improved Document Repository.
Building your year-round
network: Outside of our annual event, exchange with your
peers virtually. With exciting new Web site tools and capabilities,
including a Web site Change Request tool, a comprehensive Member Profile and the Dynamic Searchable Member Directory with Survey
Capabilities, and Discussion Forums, 2009 is already delivering
enhanced online collaboration.
Influencing McKesson Product
Direction: Create change on the product(s) that you use
every day through online Enhancements. Additionally, through special
interest group monthly meetings and beyond, you get a direct line to
McKesson leaders to influence strategic direction.
As you’re challenged with training and
travel restraints, ensure that you’re making the most of your
membership in 2009. If you have not yet renewed your membership,
make sure you do so before February 28 to truly
maximize your training spend. I can personally attest, InSight
remains the leader in the healthcare customer community.
Sincerely,
Eileen Donnelly,
RN 2009 InSight
President |
