Dear InSight Members,
As we continue to work through our
challenges in the economy and healthcare in general, we still remain
focused on future business growth. As we stay hopeful that the
economy improves and is stimulated, please know that we value your
membership and are confident that enhancement in business activity
is not too far behind.
It’s
important we start preparing for the road ahead. Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer John H. Hammergren himself assures us, “McKesson
is committed to developing information technology that will serve as
the backbone of an interconnected, efficient system that provides
quality care to everyone. We are taking the steps needed to ensure
we remain a technology leader while realizing the tremendous

management team continues to lead and execute on InSight’s vision

McKesson Honors Health Systems for CPOE
Success with Patient Outcomes and Medication Safety
|
|
Decatur Memorial Hospital, a 356-bed
hospital in Decatur, Ill., earned first place in McKesson's 2009
Celebrating CPOE Success Award, the second annual computerized
physician order entry (CPOE) competition. Decatur Memorial took top
honors for using McKesson's Horizon
Expert Orders™ solution to help medical staff improve patient
outcomes and reduce variability in the blood transfusion process.
Dupont Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.,
and WellStar Health System in Marietta, Ga., were recognized as
award finalists. An independent panel of judges selected the winners
based on their use of CPOE to solve specific business issues by
achieving clinical and financial results. Read the press
